Last year, the Old Davie School Historical Museum hosted another successful Women’s History Tea with over 50 women in attendance. Thanks to Miss Pauline’s English Catering, Southern Handcraft Society-West Broward Chapter, Michelle Hall and Girl Scout Troop #647 for their food donations and assistance. Kudos to Operations Manager Kelli Walters and Museum Educator Claire Smith for organizing and making the arrangements for the event.
Historical Women Reenactors (l to r)--Betsy Ross (Susan Macak), Helen Keller (Lauren Bandes), Laura Ingalls Wilder (Natalie Riusech), Emily Dickinson (Megan Havner) and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother (Ellouise Hall)

The annual tea is an opportunity to enjoy a traditional four-course afternoon tea and to interact with some famous and not-so-famous women of history. During the event each table is visited by costumed women from the past, telling their stories and answering questions.

The event begins at 11:00 a.m. with a tour of the School Museum and the tea served at 11:30 a.m. Attendance at this tea helps Brownies earn their Listening to the Past try-it; Juniors, their Womens’ Stories badge; and Cadette Seniors, their Women Through Time interest project patch.
