Once a year the Davie Historical Society Committee and the Old Davie School Historical Museum host a dinner honoring early Davie Pioneer families. Two to three families are recognized each year. The evening begins with a covered-dish dinner, recreating the many community dinners that have been popular at the Davie School since it opened in 1918, and is followed by family introductions and family history video presentations. Past Family Honorees include: Anderson Aunapu Bateman Carson Earle Forman Franklin Griffin Hammer Hill Johnson Lloyd Middlebrooks Mize Osborne Saar Salvino Shaw Stirling Taylor Thompson Viele Wabnitz All proceeds from the Pioneer Dinner are used for educational programs and projects at the Old Davie School Historical Museum.
