Compiled by the Davie Historical Society and through the generous
contributions of recipes by some of Davie's earliest pioneers and
their families. In 1909, settlers arrived in Davie from far and
wide, lured by the inexpensive land, warm climate and rich farmland.
Coming from all over the world, each group brought a variety of
colorful cultures. From the blending of all these diverse cultures
and the dedication of those early pioneers to survive, the firm
roots of Davie were firmly planted. Through all of the stages of
Davie's development, there was FOOD! Ideas and recipes were shared
from the very beginning, and this rich mixture of cultures and sharing
of ideas & recipes has given us "Generations of Home Cooking."
